Basic Canine Grooming Course
“This course is based on one to one tuition and is very intensive”
This course aims to give a basic understanding and a rounded view of the dog grooming business.
Beginning with basic bathing and handling. Culminating with the student being able to bath, dry, trim and finish a dog to salon standard in an allotted time.
The theory aspect is completed by the student at home and is required in order to complete the course.
At present there are no Irish grooming qualifications, however City & Guild qualifications are now available in Northern Ireland.
This course gives you a solid base on which to build and continue towards your new career.
A years membership to the Irish Professional Dog Groomers Association {worth €60} is included in the course fee. The association is great for getting to know other Groomers, learning new techniques and keeping up with style changes

It is recommended that a prospective student participates in a trial or “Taster Day”
This consists of a full day spent in the busy grooming salon.
“Just to make sure it is all you dreamed it would be and that you can tolerate the hairy environment and the “glamour” end of dog grooming as a career !” Also it gives us a chance to meet each other and see whether we can work together to help you in your chosen occupation.
A taster day costs €100 which can then be deducted from any subsequent course booking.
This course offers the aspiring groomer an idea of what is ahead. The basic skills needed to either start their own grooming salon, get employment in a salon or to continue further training to specialise in certain areas .
If you have any questions or queries please phone us and we will endeavor to help.
